Adrian deRooy

Adrian deRooy is an internationally acclaimed artist, born in Brunsuum Holland. At the age of 5, at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam he was mesmerized by what he saw. The personal vision and creative process began, the delicate light, the shadows, the varying moods, the bold and vibrant colors, all captured his imagination. All the paintings seemed to have this incredible inner glow.

The family came to Canada where he studied and graduated from the Ontario College of Art. He is classically trained and influenced by the Old Master's of his homeland, such as Franz Halls, Rembrandt, and he is also influenced by Abstract Painter Willem de Kooning and is a great admirer of Pop Artist Andy Warhol.

When his painting “The Bear Bull Brawl " was published in New York it became the main stay image for stockbrokers all across the land and put Adrian's name on the proverbial map.

Adrian loves to experiment with different styles, and is fascinated by how they meld and evolve; this is paramount in order to grow and become unique. Classic meets Abstract meets Avant-Garde.

Adrian’s paintings are in corporate and private collections all over the world. He is currently represented at the Win Henstock Gallery in Oakville, Ontario.
